Basketball League
The Clark County Family YMCA offers basketball in the Spring. Our league is designed to enhance self-esteem with an emphasis on fair play. Everyone plays equal time and there are no tryouts. We offer co-ed, girls and boys basketball leagues. Informational Flier

Registration for Spring Basketball
Please check back for more information, including registration. Anyone registering will be put on a waitlist. Team placement and team shirt are not guaranteed.
$55 for K – 5th grade leagues, $80 for 9th –12th grade leagues.

Team Equality
Team equality is of primary importance. The YMCA can not guarantee that requests for team placement will be honored. However, we will do our best to accommodate requests.

Volunteer Coaches Needed
We are looking for volunteers to serve as coaches in our YMCA Youth Sports Program. The time commitment is approximately three hours per week: 1 hour for practices, 1 hour for games and 1 hour for planning & maintaining contact with parents and players. No experience necessary. Practice plans will be provided upon request. Serve as a role model for parents and youth involved in the program. This is your YMCA. Volunteer and make a difference. For additional information about coaching in our K – 8th grade league, please contact Heidi White at hwhite@ymca-portland.org or 360.258.3844. For additional information about coaching in our 9th –12th grade league please contact Luke Grossnickle at 503.654.8372 or lgrossnickle@ymca-portland.org. You will need to complete both the Online Coach Application and Volunteer Application to be eligible.  

Important Basketball Dates
3/31/10 – Last Day for Registration- Anyone registering after this date will be placed on the waitlist.  Placement on a team and/or team t-shirt is not guaranteed.
4/1/10 – Coaches Meeting- Team rosters and practice times and locations will be decided at the meeting.  4/2/10 – Coaches will begin contacting players.  If you do not hear from your coach via e-mail or phone by April 6th, please contact the appropriate League Coordinator
4/10/10 – K – 3rd grade Jamboree at the Clark County Family YMCA- A chance for K – 3rd grade participants to meet their coaches and practice their skills. 9:00 a.m. for K – 1st grade, 10:00 a.m. for 2nd – 3rd grade
4/15/10 – Games Begin – All games are played April 15th – May 22nd
